Being from Yorkshire, of course we were going to have a blog on the Great Yorkshire Show. Especially when it's the BIGGEST Agricultural Show in the UK!
For the last 8 years we have attended - for pleasure, not business. And partly to partake in Prosecco & Pimms.
---
But it's not just about sipping Pimms in the sun, it's a three day event held in Harrogate, Yorkshire. It's here to showcase the best of British farming, food and the countryside. Over 8,500 animals compete and 130,00 guests socialise and celebrate.
Below are a couple of shot's we have taken while watching the shows!

Did You Know?
• First ever GYS was held in the Barrack Yard of the 5th Dragoons in Fulford, York, in 1838. • Over 44,000 visitors attend the show each day • Each show has over 1,200 trade stands and over 2,000 competitions

Can you believe last year marked the 160th show!? Also at last year's show there was a wedding, West Yorkshire farmers from Emley tied the knot at the showground pavilions!
There are 40 years difference between the two photos below, when life was in black and white :)
